Robert Nicholas Scherer

SCHERER, Robert Nicholas “Nick”, 50, of Land O Lakes, FL, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Nick was born in Chicago Heights, IL to Dr. Robert and Barbara Scherer April 14, 1967. A graduate of Homewood- Flossmoor High School, he went on to earn a BS degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Roosevelt University. Shortly after college he began a successful career in aviation business development. After learning the business quickly and developing personal relationships nationally, he started his own aviation company in 2004 and moved his family down to Florida, where they still reside today. Nick had a deep-seated passion for meeting new people, rescuing animals and helping those in need. Nick was a devout Catholic and would often encourage his family to spend time volunteering and giving back to the community. His hobbies included water skiing, gardening, outdoor activities, but most of all spending time with his family at the beach. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan; 3 children, Zachary Garza and wife Nancy, Connor Scherer, and Molly Scherer; brother, Michael Scherer and wife Rachel; 2 sisters, Laurie Kelner, Lisa Ariss and husband Jeff.
