GARDNER, J. Robert “Bob”, 83, of Lutz, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010. He was born in Middletown, Ohio and raised in Troy, Ohio. He moved to Florida from Springfield, Ohio in 1979. He was a 1st Lt in the Army Corps of Engineers and served in WWII and Korea. He graduated from Notre Dame University in 1951, earned an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and enjoyed a successful career as a Civil Engineer. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church of Land O’Lakes, where he was an usher, taught religious education, and volunteered at the Baldomero Lopez Veterans Nursing Home. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, past Grand Knight, member of American Legion post 108, past Post Commander. He is preceded in death by his first wife Elise L., and brother, Richard Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Gisela; his sons, Anthony and wife Kathy of Covington, GA, Joseph and wife Phyllis of Wesley Chapel, FL, John of Tampa, FL, Christopher and wife Sheila of Palm Coast, FL;daughters, Marjorie and husband Ronald Brensinger of North Richland Hills, TX., Judith and husband Charles Reese of Lutz, FL; stepchildren, James and wife Diana Biggs of Redwood City, CA, Lee Biggs of Atlanta, GA, Peter Wiethege of Elgin, IL; Gregory Biggs of Dallas, TX, Robert and wife Amy Biggs of Naples, FL, Curtis Biggs of Schaumburg, IL, Matthew and wife Lara Biggs of Evanston, IL; brother, Michael and wife Martha of Hunt Valley, MD.; sister, Mary Catherine Rozell of Troy, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Loyless Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice, Dade City, FL or a charity of your choice.
