Virginia Holmes Fogarty

Fogarty, Virginia (Winnie), 91 of Land O Lakes, FL, passed away on Friday, October 30,2020. She was born in Richmond, VA and moved to Miami Shores, FL in 1965 where she and her husband raised their family. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Land O Lakes, FL. She converted to the Catholic faith when married and was initiated as a Dame of Malta in the Catholic Church, following her husband's initiation as a Knight of Malta. Our mother was the pillar of her family – family was everything to her, and she dedicated her life to loving unconditionally and caring for family and friends near and far. In earlier years, she and her husband loved to travel, especially to Rome; She loved speaking with her friends on the phone, listening to sports games, listening to her audio books on the porch on a warm day, caring for her orchids and loved the sounds of birds in the trees. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Fogarty, Jr. She is survived by five sons: Joseph Fogarty, James Fogarty, Michael (Nancy) Fogarty, Timothy Fogarty and John Fogarty; two daughters: Virginia Anne May and Patricia Fogarty, and her sister-in-law Moira Fogarty. Also surviving are her three grandchildren: Josh Fogarty, Brendan (Faith) Fogarty, and Jessica Washburn; two nieces: Moira (Joseph) Birdsong and Carol (David) Ludwick; in addition to her great-grandchildren. A funeral mass and burial will be finalized in 2021, and she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Joseph in Miami FL. She is reunited with our father where her heart has always been.
