Whirle, Harold Gordon, 76, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday December 28, 2000 at James A. Haley Veteran?s Hospital in Tampa, FL. A native of Morgantown, West Virginia, he came here in 1924. He retired in 1982, after working 27 years as a transport driver for Chevron Oil Company in Port Tampa, FL. He served in the U.S. Navy Ships Cook-3rd Class during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans ? Sunshine City Chapter # 9. Survivors include his son, Wayne Whirle of St. Petersburg, FL, one brother, Marvin Whirle of St. Petersburg, FL, three grandchildren, Nicole, Crystal, and Steven Whirle all of St. Petersburg, FL. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center-Bobbitt Chapel, St. Petersburg, FL.
