Wainman, Mildred Avis ?Millie?, 72, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday February 24, 2001 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital of Cancer. She was born in James City, Pa. and came here in 1957 from Olean, New York. She was a Program Support Specialist for the Department of Commerce, retiring after 25 years with the National Marine Fisheries Service, a branch of NOAA. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Walter Wainman, St. Petersburg, 2 daughters, April Baggett, Bowie, MD., Mary Jane ?Mia? Adkins, Palmetto, Ga., 1 son, Steven Wainman, St. Petersburg, 1 brother, William Avis, Polk, Pa., 3 sisters Mary Hyldahl, Falconer, New York, Leah Festa San Jose, Calf., Jennie Westren, St. Clair, Mich., and 3 grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes and Cremation Tribute Center, Bobbitt Chapel.
