John Chester Haley
July 5th, 1936 - September 12th, 2001
Haley, John Chester, Jr., 65, formerly of Watertown, NY and Plattsburg, NY, recently moved to Kenneth City, Florida where he died Wednesday September 12, 2001 at home under the care of Hospice with his daughter at his side. Mr. Haley was an air traffic controller for the FAA for 32 years in Watertown, NY and St. Petersburg, FL. Mr. Haley came to Watertown, NY in 1955 and was stationed at Dry Hill Radar Station as a radar operator and a member of the USAF 655th Aero Squadron where he met and married Rose Marie Surdi of Watertown, and had two children by that marriage. Mr. Haley is survived by his daughter Tamara Haley Vashon, Kenneth City, his Mother Ethel Haley of Plattsburg, NY and a brother Joseph L. Haley of Severn, MD. He had a son, John A. deceased in 1989 and a sister Constance Duckworth deceased in 1995. Also surviving Nieces, Nephews and a former wife and special friend Florence Bach of Watertown N.Y. A burial and private service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Watertown at the convenience of the family.
