Walters, Kenneth C., 75, of Tampa, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday March 8, 2002 at home. Born and raised in St. Petersburg, he moved to Tampa in 1980. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and was a gasoline truck driver for Gulf Oil Company for 34 years. He was a race car driver at Sunshine Speedway in the early 1960?s. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Martha B. Walters, 1 daughter, Marianne Smith of Asheville, North Carolina, 3 sons, Kenneth C. ?Kenny? Walters, Jr. of Clearwater, Florida, Roger D. Walters of Charlotte, North Carolina and Frank Clark of St. Petersburg, 1 step daughter, Lorene Meighen of Tampa, 4 step sons, Tony Bowlin, Eddie Bowlin, Roger Bowlin and Clifford Bowlin, all of Tampa, 1 brother, Clyde J. Walters of St. Petersburg, 3 sisters, Mary Wallace of Thompson, Connecticut and Nancee Clark and Mildred White, both of St. Petersburg, 15 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
