Anthony Negele
March 11th, 1949 - July 20th, 2002
Anthony ?Tony? Negele Hart, 53, died Saturday, July 20th at his home in St. Petersburg. A member of the St. Petersburg community since 1979, Mr. Hart was a Renaissance man. In addition to co-owning Hart Upholstery, he performed comedy as a professional clown, was an extra with the St. Peterburg Opera, and a sculptor exhibiting his ceramic raku pieces at St. Petersburg galleries. Born in Hammond, Indiana, Mr. Hart served in the United States Army from 1969-1971, and worked at Simmons Mattress Company for twelve years before settling in St. Petersburg. He is survived by his life partner, Richard Safro, of St. Petersburg, his mother, Mrs. Violet Negele, of Hammond, Indiana, sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Glen Pogue of De Motte, Indiana, brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Robin Wells of St Petersburg, and three nephews, David, John, and Tim Pogue. Tony?s life is celebrated by a close circle of friends whose lives have been enriched by his courage, humor, and loyalty. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 7 PM at the home of Mr. Safro. Please contact Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home-9th Street Chapel for address and directions ? 727822-2059.
