Stanley C. Shaver
November 5th, 1927 - March 15th, 2015
Shaver Jr., Stanley C. 87, of St Petersburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he came to St Petersburg in 1939. He graduated from St Petersburg High School and The University of Florida, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served in the US Army from 1945-1947. Stan served as a Senior Vice President of Wallace Welch & Willingham, Inc, was a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). He also served as President of the Independent Insurors of Greater St Petersburg and was named Insurance Agent of the year in 1974. Stan started his civic duties by earning the rank of Eagle in Boy Scout Troop 236 and later was a Scoutmaster for the same troop. His civic activities continued as a Board Member of Pinellas County TB and Health Association, Board Member and later Chapter Chairman of the South Pinellas Chapter of American National Red Cross, and a member and President of Sertoma Club and later a member and director of the Kiwanis Club of St Petersburg. Stan was a member of St Thomas Episcopal Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Lector, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Vestry member and Senior Warden. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Stanley Shaver Sr. and his loving wife of 57 years Esther. He is survived by three daughters; Nancy (Bernard) Kehler, Sally (Robin) Rood , Lenoir (Anthony) Brewer and one son; Frank (Laura) Shaver. Five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
