Romayne Ward Davey

Davey, Romayne Ward, 94, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Dalton, PA, passed away October 15, 2003 at Grace HealthCare in St. Petersburg. She was born in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Jesse Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Chester W. Davey in 1993. They resided in Dalton for many years before moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 1985. She was a 50-year member of Dalton United Methodist Church, Dalton, PA, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women?s Society and the Challenges Class. She was an avid reader and a member of the RTR Book Club. She is survived by two daughters, Joan D. Kagey, St. Petersburg, FL and Carol Burton Hannay, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five grandchildren, Charles D. Kagey, Largo, FL, J. Forrest Connie Kagey, Doraville, GA, Jay Hannay, Jill Mark Kline and Scott Hannay, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three great-grandsons, Tyler Hannay, Jason Hannay and Thomas Kline; two great-granddaughters, Christine Kline and Shelby Kline; a brother, Charles E. Ward, Hamilton Ohio; and nieces and nephews; two brothers Gerald and Robert and sister Lois Clark preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at Dalton United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 25th at 2:00 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 683, Dalton, PA 18414. Private burial will be held at Dalton Fairlawn Cemetery.
