Ford, Lucille Fleet, passed away on November 19, 2003. Born in St. Petersburg on January 16, 1927 to Ruth Harvey Fleet and Charles Carvel Fleet, she was a lifelong resident. Her mother, Ruth, grew up and was married in the ?The Bayboro House? in Old Southeast built in 1907 by Ruth?s father, C. A. Harvey, a St. Petersburg pioneer. C. A. Harvey and his son, Charles Lester Harvey, were influential in the early development of Bayboro Harbor. Mrs. Ford, along with sister, Ruth Thurman, and brother, Charles ?Bud? Fleet, and their parents summered in New London, New Hampshire. Mrs. Ford graduated in 1944 from St. Pete High School and St. Petersburg Junior College in 1946, then married Albert Halsey Ford, a member of the St. Pete High Class of 1941, on March 24, 1951. After an active decade of raising two children, Mary and Harvey, and participation in Junior League and Yacht Club activities, Mrs. Ford finished classes at the University of Tampa and subsequently received a Law Degree as the only woman in her graduating class from Stetson College of Law in January 1965. She, along with her sister, Ruth Thurman who had previously graduated, were among only a handful of women enrolled in the school at that time. Mrs. Ford was a partner in the law firm of Collins, Hallett, Ford & Thurman for many years before becoming the sole principal after Ruth Thurman began teaching at Stetson Law School, the passing of Judge Tom Collins and the retirement of Irma Hallett. After successfully practicing in the area of trusts and estates for thirty years, Mrs. Ford retired in 1996. She is survived by her husband, Halsey Ford; a son and daughter-in-law, Harvey and Kathleen Ford of St. Petersburg; a daughter Mary Williams of Denver; four grandchildren, Anne Williams Elmquist and Katie Williams of Denver, Drew and Meggie Ford of St. Petersburg; a sister and brother, Ruth Thurman and Charles ?Bud? Fleet of St. Petersburg; two nephews, and five nieces. She will be dearly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her name to the St. Petersburg High School Green Devil Fund, by making checks out to Green Devil Fund, Pinellas County Educational Foundation, 12090 Starkey Road, Largo, FL 33773 or to Stetson College of Law, 1401 61st St. S., Gulfport, FL 33707.
