Wilburn, Randall Thomas ?Randy,? 61, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday September 4, 2004 of complications following a cycling injury. Born in Akron, Ohio, he was an area resident for over 30 years. He was a Vietnam War veteran in Special Operations. He was a financial advisor and Vice President-Investments with Wachovia Securities. For many years he was financial commentator on local television stations 10, 13 and 8, and radio station WPLP. He loved cars, animals, sailing, cycling, and baseball. He was a board member of Friends of Strays. He was a member of the Porsche, Ferrari and Thunderbird clubs. As a competitive sailor and race organizer, he raced in the S.O.R.C. Southern Ocean Racing Conference numerous times, and served as commodore of the F.O.R.A. Florida Offshore Racing Association and as president of the P.H.R.F. Performance Handicap Rural Federation. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, and a faithful fan of the Devil Rays. He is survived by his very loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Carolyn; a brother, David Wilburn of Sharon, Connecticut; his step-mother, Barbara Wilburn of Jupiter; and aunt, Evelyn Starral, Columbus, OH.
