Kone, John P., of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in San Marcos, Texas, he came here in 1968 from Schenectady, New York. He was a graduate of the University of Texas School of Engineering. He was an electrical engineer and manager of electrical installations world- wide with General Electric Corporation retiring after 30 years of service. He took locomotive from steam to diesel electric in Brazil, which they are still using. He worked on the Hoover Dam last unit on Arizona side and the Robert B. Moses Dam on the St. Lawrence River. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Connie Kone; daughter, Rosemary Conroy of Seattle, WA; son, Stephen D. Walsh of Palm Harbor; sister, Roberta Baughman of Waco, TX; four grandchildren; three nephews and one niece.
