Free, William John ?Bill?, 55, of Pinellas Park, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at St. Petersburg General Hospital. Born in Northampton, Penn., he came here in 1951 and graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in 1968. He was a 1976 graduate of Florida State University and returned here in 2003 from Jacksonville, Florida where he was a non-violent crime investigator with the State of Florida for 28 years. He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of S.C.C.A. Sport Car Club of America and raced under S.C.C.A. all over the southeast for 20 years. He was a 30-year member of the Florida State University Boosters Association. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan K. and his father, John Free of Pinellas Park.
