Smith, Evelyn Elizabeth, 93, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday May 3, 2006 at Bayfront Medical Center after an accidental fall. She was born in Benham, KY and moved here in 2002 from Knoxville, TN. She spent her life dedicated to others. She was a Cub Scout Leader, active in her church, Magnolia United Methodist in Knoxville, as a volunteer and member of FISH. She continued serving ?senior citizens? at church until moving to St. Petersburg. She was an avid craftswoman and earned awards as she created unique dolls that were hand stitched on a treadle sewing machine. She enjoyed dancing and was adept at karate in her youth. She worked at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, TN until retiring at the age of 72. She was a devout Christian. She is survived by her son: Dr. Michael J. Smith; grandchildren: Kelly, Eric, and Patrick Smith and great-granddaughter: Trinity Smith, all of St. Petersburg, three nephews: William Barton Weesner of Marietta, GA, Robert Donald Weesner of Decatur, AL and Alvin Lionel Strom of Fitzgerald, GA.
