Barry, William E., 87, of Largo, died Thursday February 8, 2007 at Hospice House Woodside. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he came here in 1997 from Pinehurst, N.C. He was the President of Huron Steel Company in Detroit for 16 years. He served for 37 months overseas with the Eighth & Ninth Air Force during WWII. During this time, he fell in love with France and for 21 years maintained a residence there, 13 years on the French Rivera with a pent house apartment at St. Jean Cap Ferrat and eight years in a 200 year-old farmhouse in Southwest France near Toulouse. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eileen; daughter, Kristine Johnson, of East Point, Michigan; son, Kevin Barry, of St. Petersburg; two brothers: Robert Barnowske, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; and Karl Barnett of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
