Siemers, George Arthur, Jr. ?James?, 68, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at St. Anthony?s Hospital after a short illness. George, who came to St. Petersburg in 1946 from Swathmore, PA, was born in Ridley Park, PA on December 22, 1938. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1958 where he played the trumpet in the band and was voted ?most talented boy? in his class. George served in the U.S. Air Force and attended St. Petersburg Junior College. He was a classically trained pianist and performed locally as a pianist and vocalist. George was a member of the St. Petersburg Chess Club, the USCF and First Unity Church. He is survived by a sister, Myrtle E. Larson & brother-in-law, Fred C. Larson of St. Petersburg, an aunt, Mary Lawton Graham of Albemarle, NC, two nieces, a nephew, several cousins, grand-nieces and special friends at the Sunshine Senior Center and St. Petersburg Chess Club. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and a funeral service will be on Monday at 2:00 both at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, NE Chapel and burial will follow service at Woodlawn Memory Gardens.
