Robert Nelle

Nelle, Robert, Sr. "Bob" 80, of St. Petersburg, passed away February 7, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ft. Myers, FL, on September 8, 1927. He served with the Navy and was awarded the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After returning from the Navy he became employed by Florida Power and continued with them until his retirement in 1989, after 44 dedicated years. He married Betty Jean Caplinger, the love of his life. They were one month shy of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary when Betty passed away. He leaves behind four children, Robert Vicki, Cheryl Eric, Steve Debbie and Michael Joyce. His grandchildren are Chris, Corey, Erica, and Rob. His great grandchildren are Tristan, Abigail, Cameron and Blake. He discovered Missoula, Montana, after his retirement. He and Betty visited Missoula every summer and made many friends there. Bob also had a great love for NASCAR especially Junior and was the #1 Florida Gators fan... GO GATORS! He never missed a game whether on TV or on his radio throughout the years. The family will hold a memorial service Monday, February 11, 2008 at 6:00PM at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
