Virginia Ardell Forsyth, 83, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at home after battling Cancer. She was born in Donora, PA and moved to St. Petersburg in 2001 from Carlinville, IL. She is survived by her husband, Hugh Forsyth, who she married December 29, 2002; four daughters, Debra (Greg) Allen of Montgomery, AL, Anne (Mike) Stombaugh of Nokomis, IL, Kathy (Mickey) Eustis and Bobbi Parker both of St. Petersburg; one son, Skip (Kathy) Forsyth of Tallahassee, FL; eleven grandchildren, Tim (Christa) Still, Christina Still (Karin Austin), Cori Stombaugh, Hayley Stombaugh, Rebekah (Matthew) Goodner, Emily Eustis, Anna Eustis, David Eustis, Andrew Forsyth, Christy Forsyth, Joanna Forsyth; one great grandson, Nathanael Goodner; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Anna Butler, a daughter, Ramona Schmidt, one sister, Anna Teres, and one brother, Robert Butler. Ardell graduated from Donora High School in Donora, PA in 1946 and afterward attended West Penn School Of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She began her nursing career in 1950. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1986 from College Of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She worked at Carlinville Area Hospital, Lakeview Nursing Home, Macoupin County Public Health, and St. John's Hospital Hospice Unit. She attended Maximo Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg. Ardell performed many acts of kindness including filling and mailing boxes of supplies to the military men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq, knitting hats and mittens for needy children and graciously encouraging her children and grandchildren. Interment will be at a later date in Gillespie, IL. The family requests memorials to: Suncoast Hospice 5771 Roosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33760 $(document).ready(function(){ });
