Richard Charles Lightkep, 63, of Pensacola, Florida and formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida. On Friday, July 11, 2014, after a long and often difficult battle, Rick passed quietly from this life into eternity. He was the son of George and Lucretia Lightkep, was born in beautiful Pittsburg, Kansas, on November 8, 1950, and was raised in the sunny state of Florida. This is where he later met his match in Elaine (White) Lightkep. He was a 1968 graduate of Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, and a 1971 graduate of Miami Dade Community College in Miami, FL with an Associate In Science degree in Mortuary Science. He served in the Army National Guard and was a Funeral Director in St. Petersburg. Upon moving to Pensacola he was a transmission store manager and Dodge salesman. He is survived by his beautiful wife Elaine; 3 children, oldest son Ricky and wife Linde of Pensacola; only daughter Tracy and husband Carlton of Washington State; youngest son, Eric and wife Holly of Atlanta, Ga; his ever loving mother Lucretia of Pensacola; older brother George and wife Irene; younger brother Tom; and Rick's pride and joy, his 7 grandchildren, Kayden, Colton, Kyler, Jackson, Sullivan, Maddox, and Grantham. Rick will be welcomed at the gates of heaven by Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior and two of his grandchildren, CJ and Kya. We love you Dad and will wait patiently to see you again. His viewing and visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Innerarity Point Baptist Church in Pensacola. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:30 am also at the Church.
