Donald Cameron Matthews, 92, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010. Mr. Matthews was a long time resident of St. Petersburg and was an Army veteran of WW II. He was a member and Deacon at North East Park Baptist Church where he was a member of the Sr. Men Sunday School class, the Sr. Adult Choir, and the Happy Time Group. He is survived by one son, Navy Commander Paul E. Matthews of Tiverton, RI; one daughter, Nancy L. Newman of St. Petersburg; one sister, Gladys Eidson of Brockton, MA; 6 grandchildren, Beth Ann, John, Erin, Paul, Andrew, Ryan; and 1 great grandson, Cole. Friends may call 10:00 A.M. to service time at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at North East Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
