David Patrick Perry
October 10th, 1969 - January 26th, 2015
It is with great sadness that the family of David Patrick Perry announces his passing into eternal life on Monday, January 26, 2015, in Saint Petersburg, FL, at the age of 45. Born in Suffield, CT, on Friday, October 10, 1969, David will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Dona-Kay McDowell, his daughters, Brittany Nowak and Kaetlin Perry , his grandson, Jackson, his step-daughter, Ashley (Mark) Haber and a special young lady, Brianna Guite. David is also survived by his father, Jeffrey (Esther) and was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Zito Bordieri. Dave will be fondly remembered by his brothers, Ernest (Nancy), Jeffrey (Annette) and Gee (Sandy) along with his nieces, Elizabeth and Erin, and nephews, Jeffrey Jr., Ryan and Chris, and his great nephews, Cody, Maddox and Conrad. David is also survived by his uncles, Homer and George (Pat) and Brian (Sally) Zito along with his cousin, Kimberly Zito, and his very special 'ma', Jane Ather. David loved life and he lived it on his terms. He had an incredible sense of humor. He was known for his blue eyes, his attention to dressing and his "kicks" collection. Dave was a phenomenal third baseman and had a love of the game that saw him go to the World Series Softball Tournament in 2007 and earned him a Gold Glove Award in 2000. He also enjoyed playing Rec Basketball and Football. He was a relentless Boston Red Sox fan and never failed to cheer on his Denver Broncos. He had an incredible memory especially when it came to stats and numbers. He was a remarkable artist. David loved to spend free time with his family and friends, cooking and feeding everyone, fishing, playing cards, spending time at the beach, watching movies, singing along to the radio and, of course, watching ESPN. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 8 at 11:00am in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT (Section X, Lot 301, Grave 7) with Pastor John Reilly presiding. A reception will follow at noon at Birch Meadow Banquet Facility, 76 East Dudley Town Road, Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to David's hometown Little League, and home to the 1965 Little League World Series Champions, the Windsor Locks Little League, c/o League Treasurer, 176 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
