Joseph C. Raguckas

Joseph C. Raguckas, Sr., 93, of St. Petersburg, FL, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his daughter's residence in Cape Coral, FL. Mr. Raguckas moved to St. Petersburg in 1945 from his native Philadelphia, PA and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 27 years. He was a Coast Guard veteran of WW II where he served on the USS Leonard Wood (APA-12) in eleven major invasions. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He is survived by his son, Joseph C. (Carole) Raguckas, Jr. of Lakemont, GA; his daughters, Helen K. (Charlie) Bingham of Orlando, Theresa Anne (Gordon) Paltza of Cape Coral; 7 grandchildren, Joe, Jimmy, Somer, Heather, Jarrod, Evan, Dana; and 2 great grandchildren, Parker Rose and Rory. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Jane Raguckas. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2014 at E. Dale Gunter Funeral Home 4100-16th St. No. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church 7851-54th Avenue North in St. Petersburg.
