Michael "Mike" E. Werner

Michael E. "Mike" Werner, 62, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012. He grew up in the Northeast area of St. Petersburg and proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army at the young age of 17. After his military service, he worked as an electrician until his recent retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he loved artifact hunting, fishing, and scuba diving from his classic 1968 Boston Whaler, and the Rays. He is survived by two brothers, John Werner of Brandon, FL, Donald Werner of St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Mary Werner of Glen Burnie, MD, Susan Gaede of Lakeland, FL; four nieces, Pamela Mullin of Brandon, FL, Anna Laabs of Seminole, FL, Melissa Rose of Glen Burnie, MD, Kayla Gaeda of Lakeland, FL, and a nephew, Frank Werner of Seffner, FL. A memorial service will be 7:00 PM Thursday, December 20, 2012 at E. Dale Gunter Funeral Home 4100 - 16th Street North, St. Petersburg. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
