Robert C. Gregory

Gregory, Robert C. "Bob", 87 of St. Petersburg, died Sunday March 16, 2008 at Westminster Suncoast where he had been a resident for the past three years. Bob was born August 14, 1920 on a farm in Mt. Zion, IL and lived in Aurora and Chicago before coming to Florida in 1986. Prior to his retirement, Bob enjoyed a career as a salesman and designer of computer forms. He was very proud to have been a WWII Navy veteran who served on board a naval destroyer in the Pacific and he kept up membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW for many years. Always community minded, Bob gave blood and volunteered at the Bayfront Medical Center. In 1998 Point Brittany honored Bob as "Man of the Year" for all the good things he did in the community. A twenty-five year member of the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg, he was also elected and served as an Elder. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Dorothy R., a daughter, Elizabeth Blalock, Arlington Heights, IL, and a son Robert M. of Naperville, IL. Also surviving are three stepchildren, Jane Franz, Crystal Lake IL, Judy Morton, Denver, CO, and Robert Speers of Aurora, IL. Bob was blessed to have numerous grand children and great grandchildren who brought much joy to his life. Friends and family may call to pay their respects at a Memorial Service to be held on March 26, 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg.
