Deatherage, Fred L. "Bob", 88, of St. Petersburg, died on October 19, 2008 at the Bay Pines VA Hospital, under Hospice care. He was born in Woodburn, KY, lived in Michigan and retired in St. Petersburg. He was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, MI after 44 years. He loved to hunt, fish and tell stories. He had a great sense of humor, a kind heart and was always ready to help those in need. He is survived by 8 children, Jack Carol of Northeast, PA, Phyllis Paciocco of Hamburg, MI, Jim Eileen of Charlotte, NC, Barbara Ray Keene of Stanley, NC, Dennis Kaye of Gastonia, NC, Shelley Levi Hinds of Mt. Holly, NC, Dale of Pleasant Ridge, MI, Brian of St. Petersburg, FL, sister, Mary Brooks of Bethleham, MI and 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home NE chapel on October 21 from 1-4 pm with funeral services at 4pm. The family would like to thank Hospice for the wonderful care and kindness they showed their father. The family would like to request that donations be made in the form of a check to: VAMC Bay Pines GPF 1086 and mailed to: Bay Pines VAMC, Hospice Unit, Ward 4B P.O. Box 5005, Bay Pines, FL 33744.
