He loved to attend family gatherings. Family BBQs were his favorite. His hobbies were horses, Dog tracks, and fishing. He enjoyed reading and cowboy western movies. He loved playing cards and checkers with his grandchildren and always call them cheaters because he could never win. He was a very giving man. He helped all in need both family and friends. He was known as "El Tio de Belle Glade." He was greeted in Heaven by his father Rafael Salazar, his mother Maximina Blanco Salazar, his wife Augustina Teniente-Salazar, his step-daughter Gloria, his step-son Jose and his grandson Bobby. He leaves behind 9 children: La Negra, Irma, Hilda, Jose Luis, Alfredo, Rafael, Rachel, Rafaela (Fella), and Maria (Veronica); 4 step-children: Albert, Esther, Linda (Billy) and Sylvia. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
