Terry McNeely Olson

Terry McNeely Olson Terry went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2012. He was born July 30, 1941 in Centralia, Wash. to Elmer and Betty Olson (both deceased). The oldest of three boys, he was preceded in death by one brother, David. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Claudia Lee Olson; his daughter, Christina Schneider (Paul) and grandchildren, Madison and Colten; son, Erik McNeely Olson (Melissa) and grandchildren, Reese, Ashlyn and Sofia. He adored his family. Terry graduated from Centralia High School in 1959, attended Central Washington (played football in high school and college) before joining the Air Force, serving 1961-1965. He married Claudia on April 3, 1965 and moved to California to finish college. He graduated San Jose State College in 1968. Terry worked in the banking industry for over 40 years, including Evergreen Savings, Umpqua S&L (Oregon) and WSECU, and retired from Timberland Bank in 2010. He was a strong Christian who loved his family, flying ( a member of Center O Flying Club), racquetball at The Valley, boating, and building things at home. Terry has been involved in many activities in the Olympia community over the years. As a member of Rotary, he loved working on “the duck dash.” Terry’s living faith, guiding wisdom, and unfailing love will forever be remembered and continued by a generation of children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces who learned from his strong example and his loving investments in their lives.
