Barbara Philopina Reiter
January 22nd, 1920 - March 21st, 2011
Barbara Ehli Reiter was born to Christ and Mary (Wentz) Ehli of Rugby, North Dakota on January 22, 1920 in Selz, ND passed away on March 21, 2011 at age of 91. Barbara and John got married in June, 1940. In addition to raising six children, Barbara worked at various jobs outside the home. Barbara lived in Minot, ND. until 1967 when she and John moved to Tacoma, WA. John passed away in 1980 after 40 years of marriage. Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother & Great Great Grandmother is survived by her children Vernon (Corinne) Reiter of Rugby, ND, Virgil (Shirley) Reiter, Eatonville WA, Darlyne (Steve Romines) Reiter, Tacoma, WA, Janna (Michael) Reiter Carter Spanaway WA, and daughter-in-law Sandy Reiter of Glendive, MT. Barbara has 17 Grandchildren, 34 Great grandchildren, and 2 Great Great grandchildren. Her brother Walt (Barbara) Ehli, Mesa AZ, her sisters Helen Ehli Thiel, Billings, MT, and Dee (Gordy) Ehli Mevissen Roots, Coon Rapids, MN, brother-in-law Richard Hurd of Sun City, AZ. Barbara has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by parents, husband John Reiter, daughter Darnell Porter, son Darrell Reiter, Harold Lincoln long time friend and seven of her ten siblings. Thank you to Charleston Assistant Living Place where Mom had lived for the last 5 years. She enjoyed the staff, friends and activities. A special thanks to her nurse Tish and Hospice. At Barbara’s request there will be no memorial services.
