Lois Gail Usitalo
June 24th, 2012
Lois Gail Usitalo Our lives are forever enriched because our mother Lois shared with us her unconditional love and compassion. Surrounded by the love of her family, Lois Gail Usitalo left this life to reunite with the love of her life, Dick Usitalo, on June 24, 2012 at the age of 82. Although we miss her dearly, we find comfort in knowing our parents are together once again. She passed away peacefully at Providence St. Peter Hospital after living with Parkinson’s disease for the past 15 years. Lois and Dick were introduced in 1961 by Dick’s mother Cora who worked with Lois at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard. Lois and Dick were married on July 10, 1961, in Poulsbo. They spent the next 49 years building their lives together with family and friends while traveling stateside and abroad, hiking, and attending plays and musicals. Rain or shine, they never missed a Husky football home game. Lois is survived by her siblings, George (Mary) Hutchison; Roger (Rena) Hutchison; and Barbara (Roger) Helie; and nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her five children and their families: Linda Ingalls, Laural Usitalo, Cheryl West, Cathy (Doug) Drew, and Rick (Melissa) Usitalo. Always dear to her heart were her grandchildren: Holly (Ian) Saunders, Tyson Ingalls, and Steven Ariani, as well as her great grandchildren, Ryan and Nathan Saunders. A memorial service celebrating Lois will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 7, 2012, at St. Christopher's Community Church located at 7902 Steamboat Island Road NW in Olympia. Mom, you will forever be in our hearts. Please leave memories of Lois or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.
