Gary Lee Wamberg
January 21st, 1935 - September 7th, 2012
Gary Lee Wamberg A big man with a gentle spirit, Gary Lee Wamberg was born January 21, 1935 in Tacoma, Wash., to Ronald and Beatrice Wamberg. He passed away September 7, 2012, in Olympia, Wash., after a long and valiant battle with multiple medical challenges. After Gary graduated from Clover Park High School, he went to work for R. Wamberg Construction where he was employed for 22 years. On September 3, 1954, he married Carol Holz, his best friend and high school sweetheart. Gary’s job took them to many Northwest locations. In 1961, they moved to Puyallup where they raised their children. In 1990, they fulfilled their dreams when they had a home built on Totten Inlet. On September 3, 2012, Gary and Carol were married 58 extraordinary years. Gary worked for a number of construction companies, including Riedel International and Tom Martin Construction. In 2000, he retired from Columbia Rock in Vancouver, Wash. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Wamberg, and sister, Bonnie Fogerty. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Christopher and Michael; daughter, Leslie Hogstrom (Denny); grandsons, Taylor and Brandon Wamberg; granddaughters, Elise Loewen (Michael), Kimberly and Kristina Hogstrom; great grandson, Cooper Loewen; nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. Memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society, Oregon Chapter, 104 SW Clay Street, Portland, OR 97201. Please leave memories of Gary or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.
