Robert Walton Jones

Robert “Bob” Walton Jones, age 69, passed away on October 26, 2013 in Hong Kong. Bob was born September 16, 1944, in Walters, OK and was the son of Ruby Nell Keim and Robert Walton Jones, Sr. Bob attended the University of Kansas, University of Oregon, and Ohio University where he got his Ph.D. in Mass Communications. He also served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed many things, some of which were teaching, reading the newspaper cover to cover, researching things on the internet, and most of all traveling the world. He always talked about the various adventures he had and would always share stories about the things he saw and what he learned about the various cultures he came in contact with. He loved learning about different things and having great conversations about what he had learned. There are not many people out there who were more intelligent than he was. But above all he was a loving husband and the best Daddy anyone could ever want. Bob is survived by his wife Mary; mother Ruby Nell Berendzen; brother Joel Berendzen; sister Nancy Mueller; daughter Alice Jones; and stepson, Douglas Harenchar. He was interred November 5, 2013 at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, WA 98042-4268.
