Lynn Louise Semega

Lynn Louise Semega, 67, passed away April 8, 2018, in Olympia, Washington, her home of 30 years. She was born May 18, 1950, to Louise and Bill Edgar in Chicago, Illinois. In 1955, the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where Lynn graduated from John Marshall High School in 1968, and earned a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Cleveland State University in 1972. She taught in the Cleveland School District from 1973 to 1988 when she moved to Olympia. Lynn married David A. Semega on December 3, 1988 in their beautiful Olympia backyard. She began teaching in the Olympia School District in 1994, and retired in 2014. Lynn’s warm, happy smile could brighten anyone’s day. She could slay giants with her sweetness. Her positivity and love for life cultivated a wonderful community of friends in Olympia. Lynn enjoyed being outdoors. She loved to ride her bike on ocean beaches and walk forest trails. She enjoyed photography, whether it was birds or blooms. She also loved to write poetry and try new recipes in her kitchen. Lynn is survived by her husband, David A. Semega; son, Flint G.
