David Shawn Thomas

David Shawn Thomas, 52, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, in Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. He was born December 28, 1964, to Roland David and Joyce Edith (Filbert) Thomas in Seattle, Washington. Over the years, he also lived in the Washington cities of Walla Walla, Shoreline, and Yelm, where he resided for the last 37 years. David graduated with the Yelm High School Class of 1983, and from Bates Technical College in Tacoma, Washington. He married Tami Gubser in Yelm on November 7, 1987. Professionally, he was an appliance technician at McKinney’s Appliance for the last 28 years. David was a caring, loving, family man and instant friend who was always good for a joke or two. Above all, David loved to make people laugh; he could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. In his free time, he enjoyed reading sports stats, playing sports, jamming and dancing to music, camping, and traveling, especially to the Oregon Coast and Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Tami Gubser; daughters, Carissa Thomas and Kendall Thomas; brothers, Ronald Thomas and Jeffrey Thomas; and sister, Tari Galindo.
