July 31st, 1928 - September 17th, 2010
John W. Babine, 82, of Puyallup, WA passed away on September 17, 2010 at Patriots Landing in Dupont, WA. He was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on July 31, 1928. He is the son of Charles P. and Helen F. (Delaney) Babine. He was a U.S. Army veteran of 26 years, serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. After working at Monroe Penitentiary, Purdy Women’s Penitentiary, a clothing manufacturer, and a transit bus line, it was time for him to retire for the last time and enjoy life. He enjoyed fishing, camping, yard work, and building things with his own hands. He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a patriotic soldier, and will be dearly missed by all who had the distinct honor of knowing him. In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, Fusako Babine, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law; Charles and Rose Babine; and James and Monica Babine. He had five grandchildren; Shane, Nicholas, Ian, Mariko, and Derek. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Babine of San Francisco, CA. His funeral services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Covington, WA. The services will begin at 2:15 pm. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
