Jean Elaine Morgan

A firecracker was ignited on July 4, 1922 and sparkled brightly for almost ninety-two years. Jean Elaine Morgan passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania she moved to Northern California in the early 1940s to be with her new husband, Myron Orr. The family blossomed in the late forties when two children, Eileen and Michael were born. Jean moved to Florida in 1958 where she resided for almost 50 years. She loved fishing, boating and many outdoor activities. Jean and her sister, Evelyn Priorie, were very close and spent a great deal of time together in the Florida sunshine. Then in 2004, she moved to Port Orchard, Washington to be closer to her two children who reside in the area. Very friendly, Jean rarely met a person with whom she didn't want to strike up a conversation. She had a big heart and always had a supportive and caring thought to share. Jean was very independent, working until age 80 and living in her own home past the age of 90. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ralph and Betty Weidenhammer, her sister Evelyn Priorie and her brother Bernard Weidenhammer. She is survived by her two children, Eileen (and John) Seifert, and Michael (and Kathleen) Patton; two grandchildren, Scott (and Sue) Hobbs, and Jeanie Butterfield; five great granddaughters, Angelica, Leichelle, Ashlie, Sharayah, and Megan; and one great great granddaughter, Gemma. Survivors also include many step grandchildren who called her Grandma or GG. Grandma Jean was loved and will be missed by many. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate her life.
