Jerry Marlon Carlson Sr., 61, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on April 2, 1953 to Winston and Bernita Carlson. As a young man, he served in the US Marine Corp, and later worked as a welder in the Tacoma shipyards for 20 years. He changed careers and became a semi-truck driver. Jerry is survived by his wife Betty L. Carlson, his two son’s Jerry M. Jr. and Frank E. Carlson, 7 grandchildren Jacob, Jessica, Ryker, Steven (Chance), Nathan, Destiny, and Madison, one great granddaughter Jasmine, two brothers Garry and Lonnie, 3 sisters, Karyn, Karlyn and Veronica. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Jerry brought joy to everyone who knew him. He was survived by his parents and brother, Larry Porter. A service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Monday June 23, 2014 at 12:30 pm.
