David Edwin Reed
October 13th, 1953 - September 11th, 2021
David Edwin Reed of Centralia, Washington, passed away on September 11, 2021, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He valiantly struggled with kidney and heart disease throughout his later years, due to complications of diabetes. David was born October 13, 1953, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to parents, Robert and Geraldine Reed. He was the fourth sibling joining the family. He attended kindergarten in Germany, and the rest of school was in Charles City, Iowa. Upon high school graduation in 1971, David enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served from 1971 to 1992, and took great pride in working on the F-15. His last assignment was McChord AFB in Tacoma, Washington. Following retirement from the military, he worked for Bridgeport Pharmacy for approximately 10 years as a tech/delivery driver. He spent his remaining years living in Washington State. In 2005, he was united in marriage to Connie Craig. David enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, and working with tools. He could fix anything and enjoyed helping people. He and Connie were members of Rochester United Methodist Church, and enjoyed their participation. They also enjoyed visiting with friends and family, and going on day trips with their friends, when able. Surviving family members include his wife, Connie Reed; sisters, Marilyn (Gerald) Frye of Garnavillo, Iowa, and Diane Klaiber of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Jim (Kim) Reed of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; nieces, Lisa (Jeff) Mink and Jennifer Reed; a great niece, Allison Groom; along with many other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert (2005) and Geraldine (2010) Reed; and brothers-in-law, Jon Johnson and Robert Klaiber. David was buried with full military honors at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. His memorial will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 540 School St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503. Masks are required.
