Ruby A. Bates

Ruby Brown Hill Bates, 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida formerly of Totz, Kentucky has gone home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2013. She was born on November 15, 1932 in Totz, Kentucky. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, David (Mary) Hill of Totz, KY; her brothers and sisters, Riley (Dorothy) Brown of Georgia, Natilla (Barry) Hill Benjamin of Alexandria, KY, Carmen (Linda) Brown of North Port, FL, Bill (Roxanne) Brown of West Harrison, IN, Zelda (Riley) Causey of Lancaster, KY, and Walter (Diane) Brown of Putney, KY; her grandchildren, Diane Hill of Harlan, KY, Dennis Hill of Madison, TN, and Chasity (David) Daukas of Lexington, KY; her great-grandchildren, Drew and Nate Daukas; and a host of other family and friends who are special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Brown and Martha Wilmot Brown; her brothers, Marcelle Brown and Jerry Brown; and her sister, Evelyn Brown. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie Hill, Jr. and her second husband, Ralph Bates. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 SW County Road 769 (Kings Highway) in Lake Suzy. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
