James "Jimmy" Fredrick Northey

James Fredrick "Jimmy" Northey of Yelm, Washington, went home to be with the LORD on July 21, 2018, five days before his 77th birthday. He was born July 26, 1941, to Lester and Rosemary (Hannan) Northey in Detroit, Michigan. He married Joyce Peres on October 18, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jimmy began working in the casino industry in Las Vegas in the early 1960s, dealing "21" and later Baccarat. He worked in many strip casinos but the last 20 years were spent at the Golden Nugget and the Mirage Hotel and Casino. When he stopped dealing, he became a floor supervisor. In 2007, he moved to Washington state and began working at the Lucky Eagle Casino. There he worked in surveillance and later as an observer in soft count until 2017. Jimmy loved Yeshua, his Lord and Savior. He considered and supported El Shaddai Ministries in Tacoma, Washington, his home church even though he wasn't able to attend services. After the Lord, golf was Jimmy's passion. If he couldn't play golf, he would enjoy watching his favorite players compete and wished he could be there to root them on. The highlight of his year was looking forward to the annual get together with a trio of golfing buddies in Salem, Oregon. Keith Shorkey, Eddie White, and Joe Comastro faithfully set aside time for this event. Jimmy always came home exhausted but loved every minute of it and couldn't wait for their next meeting. Jimmy was blessed with many dear, longtime friends and their families. To mention just a few were John Setterstrom of Olympia, Washington, Robert Ritsko and John Ritsko of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tony DiJohn of Pahrump, Nevada. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Joyce Northey; his daughter, Tina Northey, her children, Dimitri, Victoria, Emily, and Caroline Edwards, and Victoria's son Sebastian., all of Portland, Oregon; his step daughter, Sabrina Hutchens of Yelm, Washington, her sons, Ben Coffield Jr. and his daughter, Kaydence of Reno, Nevada, Kyle Hutchens and his daughters, Leighton and Laycee of Lincoln, California, and Dillion Hutchens of Denver, Colorado; and step daughter, Lezlie Peres of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her children Omar Shelly of Kingston, New York, and Dominique Webb of Las Vegas, Nevada.
