Frances Isabelle Jones Thacker Griggs Ramsay, 95, of Port Charlotte, Fl. departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. Born in Pembroke, Giles County, Virginia on Jan. 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Rile and Lena Jones. She was an active member of the New Day Christian Church of Port Charlotte. She was a graduate of Pembroke High School. She retired from a long and successful nursing career. Frances was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters as well as former husbands William Straley Thacker and Harry Griggs. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband Aaron Ramsay, daughters Annette Williams (Gene) of Valrico, FL. Donna Kay Glassburn (Mike) of Fort Lonesome, Fl. and son Ed Thacker (Brenda) of Chambersburg, Pa.. Also surviving are brothers G.R. Jones of Salem, Va., Donald Jones of Pembroke, Va. and five grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wed. Jan. 15th at 12:00 noon followed by a service at 1:00 pm at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd., Punta Gorda, Fl. Interment will follow at Charlotte Memorial.
