George D. Cuebas, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. Mr. Cuebas was born February 1, 1928 in New York City, New York to Daniel and Isabel (nee Colmenares) Cuebas and moved to this area 21 years ago from Whitestone, Queens, New York. He worked as a stock clerk for a department store and was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. Mr. Cuebas was of Catholic faith. Mr. Cuebas is survived by his wife, Dawn A. (nee Fairchild) Cuebas of Port Charlotte; sons, George (Gina) Cuebas of Port Charlotte and Gary Cuebas of Long Island, NY; daughters, Karen (Robert) Nardi of North Port, FL and Kim (Robert) Williams of Long Island, NY; and sister, Mildred Cuebas of Long Island, NY. No services will be held at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota.
