Brian Edward Steele
June 5th, 1967 - April 21st, 2023
We are sad to announce the death of Brian Edward Steele, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, co-worker and friend to many. Comforted by his wife and sons, Brian passed away at the age of 55, on April 21, 2023. Brian was born on June 5, 1967, to Ronald and Naomi Steele in Honolulu, Hawaii, where his father was stationed in the Navy. He lived much of his youth in Connecticut until moving with his parents and siblings to their home state of Wisconsin. Brian attended college for a year before making the proud decision to enlist in the Navy. He graduated from Nuclear Power School, Orlando, Florida, and served as a Nuclear Engineer on a submarine for several years. A serious car accident involving a drunk driver left Brian with disabling injuries and ended his naval career. It was during his last few months in the Navy that Brian met his wife, Colleen, a Jersey girl attending Immaculata University, Pennsylvania. They married a year after her college graduation and began their life together in Wisconsin. For the last 20 years they lived, worked and raised their two sons Cullen and Aidan, in Washington State. For 22 years Brian was a dedicated employee of OSI Systems. He was their Senior Systems Administrator for most of those years and up until his passing. Brian was a strong man of faith and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus since 2005. He served as Grand Knight from 2008-2009. In addition to his strong faith, work ethic, and deep love for family, Brian was known for his intelligence, love of learning, sense of humor and above all, his kind heart. Brian was preceded in death by his nephew Jackson Cole Steele and his mother, Naomi Helen Steele. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Steele; son Cullen Steele; son Aidan Steele; father, Ronald Steele; father-in-law/mother- in-law, Richard and Margaret Cyzewski; sister, Lani Kohrt (Todd); brothers R. Scott Steele (Lisa); Richard Steele (Joan); Andrew Steele (Tera); 2 nieces and 8 nephews, all whom he loved dearly. Come pray for and share your memories of Brian with us. A Vigil will be held on May 11, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Holy Family Church, Auburn, WA. Brian’s Funeral Mass will be held on May 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at Holy Family Church, Auburn, WA. Both will be live-streamed at www.holyfamilyauburn.org. There are also plans in the making for a Memorial Mass in Wisconsin. Brian will be laid to rest in New Jersey. The family suggests memorial donations in memory of Brian be sent to the Robyn J. Barst Pediatric Research and Mentoring Fund, Make-A-Wish America or the United in Charity Fund.
