It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Neil Ouimet, who left this world peacefully on July 24, 2024, at the age of 81. Neil was born on May 15, 1943, and lived a life marked by dedicated service, profound love for his family, and an enduring commitment to the values he held dear, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by family and friends.

Neil's journey began with his graduation from East Hartford High School in 1961. Shortly thereafter, he committed himself to the United States Air Force, serving from August 31, 1961, to August 31, 1965. His specialization in electrical repairs on B-52 Bombers took him overseas, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his country.

Following his military service, Neil applied his skills at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Connecticut, where he worked on electrical components for aircraft from 1965 until 1970. He then continued his technical career with Storer Cable, later known as Comcast Cable in Port Charlotte, Florida, where he served as Headend Technician from 1970 until his retirement in 2005.

Neil's work ethic was matched only by his vibrant personality. Known for his loud, engaging demeanor, he never met a stranger; his lively personality and efforts to make others smile were trademarks of his character. A man of many talents and interests, Neil particularly enjoyed woodworking, a hobby that reflected his meticulous nature and creative spirit. His family remembers him as the rock of the Ouimet clan, a strong and hard-working individual whose presence was a source of strength and laughter.

Neil leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory; he is deeply missed by his devoted wife, LaReeta (Loveland) Ouimet; his children, Brian Ouimet, Jason Ouimet, Denise (Ouimet) Davison, and Lisa Ouimet; his grandchildren, Dion Vacca, Kirstyn Vacca, Hunter Davison, Dalton Davison, and Dakota Davison; his daughters-in-law, Sherri (Sutton) Ouimet, and Whitney (Sharrah) Davison; his nephews, Adam and Troy Rackliffe; his step-granddaughters, Ashley Blair and Elexas Blair; and numerous great-grandchildren. Neil was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Ouimet; mother, Zoe (Vandereedt) Ouimet; brother, Billy Ouimet; twin sister, Corinne (Ouimet) Rackliffe; brother, Roger Ouimet; son-in-law, Marc Davison; and his grandparents.

Neil's life and legacy will be honored in a private family viewing and church service. We ask that those wishing to express their condolences do so in memory and in respect to Neil's wishes. We ask you to remember Neil's warm spirit, hearty laugh, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

Though no longer with us, Neil Ouimet's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, service, and unfaltering resolve. May he rest in eternal peace.
