Nancy Lee Murphy Nancy Lee Murphy, 87, of Snohomish, Washington, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2013. She was born on October 23, 1925, in Aberdeen, Washington. Upon moving to Snohomish, Nancy worked at Washington State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as an administrative assistant for 30 years. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Eugene; her four daughters, Linda Koontz, Sheila (Jim) West, Trudi (Ron) Trewin, Michelle (Larry) White; several grandchildren; and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Patrick Murphy, whom she is now reunited with in heaven. Nancy’s greatest joy was her family. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially on holidays. Her family will also remember her for many things, including her love for chocolate, coca cola, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Nancy made many afghans, baby sweaters and buntings, not only for her family, but for all of her family’s friends as well. She tried to teach her children and grandchildren this craft but none could ever make the beautiful creations quite the same. Nancy also raised and showed Persian cats for over 20 years, meeting many wonderful friends along the way. She enjoyed time spent at the ocean and had a great love for travel, taking her on several cruises and visiting Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, The Netherlands, Germany. The funeral service will be held at Masonic Memorial Park, at 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501, on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Onsite reception to follow.
