Sandra Katheryn Burns

The cycle of life came full circle on September 2, 2019. That was the day that Sandra Katheryn Burns, age 65, died. It was also the day that her grandson, Reuben Anthony Burns, was born. Sandy was known for being stubborn strong-willed, creative, and above all else: intelligent. She had a stupendous vocabulary, something her children learned the hard way when she annihilated them in a game of Password just days before her death. She was also a wicked backgammon player, having established a legacy for rolling doubles at will. Although Sandy had much to brag about⁠—including being top of her class, singing in a band, and breaking into the Hollywood Bowl—her greatest accomplishment, in her own words, were her children. Her spirit lives on through her descendants, who have inherited her strong will, creativity, and intelligence. Sandy is dearly missed by her four children, two grandchildren, three siblings, her beloved cat, and other friends/family members far too numerous to count. Her life’s message, to love one another unconditionally, will never be forgotten. A small, private funeral was held in Sandy’s honor on September 20, 2019. May she rest in peace. Questions/comments?
