Lloyd V Bliss
April 4th, 1931 - June 12th, 2009
Lloyd V Bliss Lloyd V Bliss, 78, a 35 year resident of Olympia, died June 12, 2009 after a short illness. He was born April 4, 1931 in Great Falls, Montana. Prior to living in Olympia, Lloyd lived in Anchorage, Alaska. From 1955 to 1963 Lloyd served in the U.S. Army and with the Alaska Communications System from 1955 to 1959. On April 24, 1976 in Gig Harbor, Lloyd married Patricia Ann Graff, who survives. Previous marriages include Billie Swindell and May Anderson. He was a business owner and had interests in business, reading, cooking, history, and painting. He was also an art collector. Lloyd was a member of the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to his wife, Lloyd is survived by his sons; Lloyd Charles Bliss, Howard William Bliss, Richard Arlan Bliss, Rodney Milan Bliss, and John Raymond Skeen; daughters, DeVonna Anthony, Alanna Cain, and Jennifer Anne Bliss; sister, Charline Mote; and close friend, Tom Tempel; also 29 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Anderson. Lloyd was deeply loved by his wife, family and friends and respected by the many he inspired with his wisdom, kindness, and generosity. His physical presence will be missed but his influence will continue for generations. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1602 Ruddell Rd. SE, Lacey. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to South Puget Sound Community College Foundation 2011 Mottman Rd SW Olympia WA 98512 Condolences may be left online by clicking "View Guestbook" below.
