Brenda Willis

Brenda Willis, 86 of Cape Haze, FL (Fiddler's Green, formerly of Amherst, NH and Niagara Falls Ontario, died peacefully of natural causes on Friday, October 2, 2015 in Englewood, FL. She was the wife of 57 years to James F. Willis. Born in Chell, England, Brenda was the 7TH of eight children of Joseph and Sabina Newton. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1953 and was a district nurse in London for 5 years before immigrating to Canada in 1957. Brenda was an intelligent woman who loved the arts, mystery novels, golf and tennis, but most of all, caring for her family. Brenda had a beautiful voice that she shared lovingly as a choir member of Saint Monica's Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario and Church Our Savior in Milford, NH. She played golf as a member of the Amherst Golf Club and Rotonda Golf club for many years. Brenda was a three time cancer survivor who fought valiantly for her health. Her motto was "you've got to help yourself" and that was how she lived. Brenda is survived by her daughter: Alison W. Ferguson and her husband Peter Ferguson of Highlands Ranch, CO; Paul Willis of Toronto, Ontario; three grandchildren: Dylan Ferguson of Vancouver, BC; Elizabeth and Philip of Highlands Ranch, CO and one sister: Iris Pointon of Stoke-On-Trent, England and many nieces and nephews in England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Germany. The family wishes to honor Brenda in a private ceremony next summer in England.
