EMERY K. ALLSTAEDT Emery King Allstaedt, 83, of Rotonda West died Friday, May 1, 2009 at Englewood Community Hospital. Born on January 14, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Charles E. and Hazel Mae Allstaedt, he attended Lincoln Park Schools in Michigan. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II from 1943 - 1946. In September 1947 he married Mary Louise Mayleth. He retired in 1981 after twenty-nine years with the City of Lincoln Park Police Department as a Lieutenant. Mr. Allstaedt then moved to Grove City from Lincoln Park and to Rotonda West in 1994. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2378 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1933 both in Englewood. He was pre-deceased by his wife in 2007. Survivors include his daughter: Cheryl Lynn (Morgan) Justice of Grosse Ile, MI; one son: David Paul (Patricia) Allstaedt of Fairfield Glade, TN; one sister Gladys Allstaedt of Tarpon Springs, FL; seven grand children; eight great grand children and loving companion: Helen Shaeff. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 in memory of Mr. Allstaedt.
