Carl Light
July 24th, 1934 - February 15th, 2014
Carl Light Sr. Kingsport - Carl Lee Light Sr., 79, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Kingsport and had lived here all his life. Mr. Light was owner/operator of Beulah Park Sunoco and Carl's Auto Parts Store. After retiring, he worked in cabinet refurbishing. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Light was a loving husband, father and a great provider for his family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Louise Light; father, Onnie Light and mother and step-father, Ethel Jones Light Thompson and husband, Frank. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Faye Carver Light; sons, Carl Lee Light, Jr. and wife, Eulola Joan and Ted Preston Light, sisters, Geneva Greer and Hazel Brickey Scarborough; brothers, Earl Light and, Billy Thompson and wife, Joan and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport or anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh and Rev. Troy Daily officiating. Music will be provided by the Freeman Family. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Larry Taylor, Randall Byington, Johnny Brickey, Dean Ray, Roger Barnette and Scott "Punkin" Greer. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Christine LaGuardia Phillips Cancer Center, P. O. Box 238, Kingsport, TN 37662.
